Buried in the middle of our bible is a song of erotic love. For more than a thousand years it was read as a deeply spiritual text. In the last five hundred years, though, it’s been largely forgotten and ignored.

It’s the sixth week of Easter. Easter is a season, just like Lent or Advent or Christmas. And we get one more week of Easter than we had of Lent. Six weeks of self-examination, and seven weeks to celebrate life. It’s a good balance.
